1. Convocation 2009


You will be happy to know that the 40th Annual Convocation of the Institute will be held on 8th and 9th August 2009. As per schedule, students of UG & PG will be eligible to receive your Degree on one of these dates depending upon the Deptt./Centre they have graduated from IITD.

IIT Delhi Distinguished Alumni Award 2009

It gives us a great pleasure to learn that our alma mater has decided to confer upon following the Distinguished Alumni Award for this year. On behalf of IIT Delhi Alumni Association, we extend to them our heartiest congratulations on this prestigious honour conferred on them.

It has been a tradition of IIT Delhi Alumni Association to felicitate the Distinguished Alumni Awardees at a function held normally on the evening prior to the Convocation day. This year Convocation is scheduled to be held on two days i.e. on 8th & 9th August 2009 for Under Graduate and Post Graduate students respectively. We plan to organize the felicitation function on the evening of 8th Aug.


IITDAA recognizes the outstanding contributions made by them as an alumnus of IIT Delhi through their achievements and brought glory to the name of the Institute.

Aneesh Chopra, the first Chief Technology Officer of the US and Associate Director for Technology in the Office of Science and Technology Policy, will be a keynote speaker at PanIIT 2009 to be held in Chicago from October 9-11, 2009. 3. Silver Jubilee Reunion Class of 1985

Initial Announcement

The Silver reunion of 1985 batches is scheduled for 26(Saturday), 27(Sunday) and 28th (Monday) December, 2009. In 1985 there were two batches of B. Tech i.e. 1980 – 85 (5 yr) and 1981 – 85 ( 4 yr). Graduates of these batches, as well as M. Tech and Ph. D students who passed out of the portals of IIT in 1985 are welcome to join the event.

While a formal announcement along with a tentative programme will be made following the AGM on 25th April, 09. This initial announcement is to get you to block the dates and include them in your travel plans. We would be starting around 4 pm on 26th and ending by 6:30pm on 28th Dec.’09.

Naturally such an event will require collaborative efforts. All volunteers are requested to drop in a line of interest to Mr. Satish Chauhan, office@iitdalumni.com. Alumni Association (at office@iitdalumni.com).
